Exciting News!  Sayre  Public Library is one of the seventy public libraries in 21 states selected by the American Library Association (ALA) to receive $5,000 grants as part of “The American Dream Starts @ your library®” literacy project.  This initiative is funded by the Dollar General Literacy Foundation.  Sayre Public Library joins libraries in large cities and rural towns throughout Dollar General’s market area.   We are using  the funds  to build innovative literacy services for adult English language learners and their families living and working in our community.  Stay tuned for more information!


SEASONS Programming

Join the Sayre Public Library for the Valley's first grant project to provide programs at the library for baby boomers and beyond. This program is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the Office of Commonwealth Libraries. The 2012 Summer Reading Program theme is Dream Big Read! The Sayre Public Library and the Valley Kiwanis are busy brainstorming ideas to fill their Summer Reading Program schedule with activities that support the theme. It promises to be lots of fun, filled with excitement- including a magic show, beach party, bat show, as well as, educational and just plain fun! The program includes weekly prizes, giveaways and snacks. Registration begins May 1st.
