The program is designed for children aged three to five.

The story programs at the Sayre Public Library were created in response to continuing research that shows the importance of sharing language with young children. Early childhood reading programs help to prepare children to learn to read and love books. The early introduction of language play, books, rhymes, and songs into a child’s life offers variety of experiences. Story times introduce children to new words and experiences, exposes listeners to the enjoyment that can be experienced from reading and exercises children's imaginations.
